Astronomers have confirmed the discovery of an earth like planet in a solar system very much like our own

The planet is approx 600 light years from our own.

Of course the image above that I took is not of the new planet, named Kepler 22b, but of a Christmas bauble on our tree. It just reminded me of reading about it yesterday.

If you are interested you can read more about it here.

As always I value your thoughts and feedback on my images.

  1. Good idea and I love the composition!

  2. Thought provoking πŸ™‚ I wonder what we would do if we discovered life on this planet? How many generations will the ride lasting the 600 light year take?!!!! Will there be life on Earth in 600 light years?!!!!

  3. Wow – what a cool theme you have! So good for displaying photos πŸ™‚ And I like your photos man, I’ll be sure to check in here often! Thanks for the like too πŸ™‚

  4. Love this image. It immediately made me think of a planet. And I was so excited to finally hear (like we knew it was coming at some point, didn’t we?:) ), of a discovery of another planet like ours. Great post! πŸ™‚
