Last week I was taking some portrait shots ready for Christmas and this one of two sisters was one of my favourites from the day.

The girls were loving posing for their shots and would have been there still I think if I had not stopped shooting.

As always I value your thoughts and feedback on my images.

  1. Photos like this just make me wish that my Grandaughters lived closer to me. They are always posing. I love the ‘one shoe off’ look.

  2. I love that you did something different for the background. Sometimes the background can be too busy and it takes away from the subjects, but this somehow just fits perfectly. It’s beautiful!

    • I agree. The background in the colour version, although nice, is very busy with the red and brown of the brick and the green of the leaves. Turning it into a black and white shot removed this and simplified it. I think it works.

  3. Great composition. Love the polka dot coats and the choice of b&w.

  4. A lovely portrait! I wish my girls would be models like this too 😉

  5. Perfect! I like how certain elements tell a story, like why is she missing a shoe. A fantastic photo.

  6. Love their little feet.
